[...]The late Mr. John James Redpath was one of the organizers of the Victoria Rifles and was for a considerable time Captain of No. 5 Company, until promoted to the majority, with which rank he retired. The Vics will accord their late major a military funeral. At the parade of the battalion last evening, the regiment was ordered to muster at the armory at 8 p.m. on Sat-day to attend the funeral in full dress uniform with busbies. The band, drum and bugle corps and pioneers will attend. The left half battalion, under command of a major, will form a firing party and the right half battalion will wear side arms.
