As the clock struck twelve & the twentieth century dawned, all the guests at Ravenscrag joined hands in the ball room & sang “Auld Lang Syne”. I felt as though I must do something exciting to welcome the new century & going to a ball, escorted by Harold & Cliff, was the most unusual & exciting thing I could think of. As there were many men over there was no excuse for being a wallflower. I enjoyed myself exceedingly, not disdaining the supper, everything being most delicious. Home soon after two & to bed.
