of La Rochelle present In This city Freely and Voluntarily, Who has Voluntarily
chosen Employment for one year Beginning the fifteenth of this month with
Sieur alexis Le Moine moniere, Bourgeois merchant in This city and Residing
here, who, present, has accepted to take and Retain Him in his service for
the Said period of time As a Domestic And who promises to provide Him with
Drink, nourishment, fire, Shelter and Light, to treat Him with Kindness And
humanity As required; in return for which the Said Domestic promises to Obey
the said Sieur moniere, to serve Him faithfully In his capacity as Domestic
both in the Countryside and in The City, to work for his betterment, Never
to his Detriment, to Inform him of possible misfortunes And Generally to do
All that He Is Ordered to Do that is Lawful And just And in his capacity without
the possibility of leaving the Said service without the Consent of the Said
moniere under The penalties of the ordinances. This Agreement
Thus concluded in return for The sum of One hundred Livres that the Said Sieur
moniere promises And Agrees to Commit And pay to the said Indentured servant
As he Needs it. Done And Passed in the said montreal in the offices of the
said notaries in the Year seventeen Hundred thirty-three on The Seventeenth
of September in the afternoon And which the Said Sieur Moniere signed together
with the Said notaries. The
