Statement of Nick Reiben
Statement of Nick Reiben, taken on the 31st October, 1924
Nick Reiben, who had been working at Tunnel on Section.
I got on train at Tunnel about 12.O.C. or after, George Markin and George Kasikoff got on Train with me, (there is some coaches at Tunnel with crew who is working on the cement crew.) after getting on train, I sat about four seats behind Mr. Verigin. I don't think there was any vacant seats between where I sat and where Mr. Verigin was sitting, I Lay down as soon as I got on train and went to sleep, and I partly woke up when the train arrived at Farron, and noticed George Kasikoff in seat facing me, I lay down again and went to sleep, the next thing I knew something threw me up in the air a short distance, I then attempted to get out of the car as it was burning, I got out through window by knocking off some bars, then a brakeman came up and asked me if I was hurt, I said not very bad, he then took me into the sleeping car and I went to bed in the sleeper. I had a new black Suit case, in which I had two shirts and one pair of pants.
