September 22, 1920 Dear Sir:- I enclose herewith a few more signatures in the case of Marie Anne Houde, Québec. As you will notice The Rev. Mr. Henderson, D. D. the principal representative of methodism in Canada, takes the responsability off and heads these petitions. Dont you think, sir, it would be something awful to hang this woman while she is still nursing those twins? Can you not, at least, postpone the hanging until such time as the twins are weaned? Yours truly, Robert Bickerdike P.S. 115 signatures Source: ANC, , RG 13, Box 1507, File Houde Marie-Anne, vol. 1, part. 1, Robert Bickerdike (Canadian Prisoners' Welfare Association), Letter of Petition, September 22, 1920, 1.
