Charge of Abusive Language
CHARGE OF ABUSIVE LANGUAGE — An old lady named Donnelly was charged before Squire Peters yesterday with using abusive and insulting language towards [illegible] Carroll, in the township of Biddulph. The complainant, Carroll, swore that Mrs. Donnelly called him a blackguard, thief and rogue, while the defendant's two sons swore positively that the term blackguard was only used. They also swore that Carroll pointed a revolver at Mrs. Donnelly, saying at the same time that he would just as soon shoot her as he would one of her sons. Judgement was reserved until to-day.
