[...]Excitement is very high in London township over the killing of Bodfield by Willis, both of the parties being widely known. The whole circumstances of the case are extraordinary. Nothing is known of the affair, except what has been told by Willis himself. He admits giving the fatal blow, and justifies himself on the ground of self-defence. His statements in this particular are supported by his own personal appearance. He looked as if he had come out of a heavy fight, bruised and bloody. Mr. D. Glass, Q.C., has been engaged for the prisoner, Willis, and it is reported spent most of the day with him in his cell, getting a knowledge of his case.
