[St Patrick's Church — Roman Catholic]
Rev. M. Power of Toronto established St. Patrick’s congregation in 1845 with an estimated 25 Roman Catholic families. [...]The first church, a frame building, was built in 1850. [...] St. Patrick’s congregation grew rapidly and by 1853 reached a total of 150 families. [...] A brick structure, modelled after the first St. Peter Cathedral, was built in 1859. [...] Rev. Fr. H. B. Lotz became rector of St. Patrick’s in 1876 and after three years was succeeded by Rev. Fr. John Connolly [...].
