My dear Sir,
I have no idea Mrs O'Connor intended paying you another visit. [...] The more you give her the more she wants. She knows her power & is deternmined to make use of it. [...] She did not scruple to say that she could get $4000 from the friends of the prisoners, & therefore that she intended to receive money from the Govt. [...] I have no doubt she could make a good bargain with the prisoners' friends, & see no reason to question the offer of $4000 having been made.
