Mr James Carroll
Sir,
At an adjourned sessions of the Peace held Feby 5th inst before Judge Elliot the following order was passed, a copy of which I have been directed to furnish you with:
“In consequence of the facts which were elicited during the late trail of James Carroll for murder, he and Samuel Hodgins of Granton are both dismissed from the constabulary of County of Middlesex. Both these men by their conduct have shown their disinclination to aid in the discovery of crime & their consequent unfitness for the position of Constable.”
By order at the adjourned Sessions,
Wm Elliot Chairman
E.F. Johnson, D.C.P.
