William R. Morrison

Bill Morrison is a fourth generation Hamiltonian, born and raised in the city. He received his B.A. from McMaster in 1963 and his M.A. in 1964. He taught high school for a year, earned a PhD from the University of Western Ontario, worked briefly for the federal government, then taught at Brandon University, Lakehead University, and the University of Northern British Columbia, where he was the first Dean of Research and Graduate Studies. He also taught sessionally at the University of Victoria and Duke University.
In 2007 he was awarded an Honorary D.Lit. by Brandon University. He is editor, author and co-author of thirteen books, most recently Campus Confidential: 100 Startling Things You Don’t Know About Canada’s Universities, second edition James Lorimer 2013. Retired in 2010 after 41 years of university teaching and administration, he lives with his wife in Ladysmith, BC.
