Letter from Grace Wood Redpath to Amy Redpath, 16 June 1901

My dearest, my sweetest Amy.
Your devotion, and your loving care is now past: I know you are feeling life very empty, and your heart is well nigh broken.
In addition to the loss of your mother, to have had your dear Clifford taken from you, is the bitterness of sorrow, to me this sore bereavement is terrible – what must it be to you! If we did not believe in GOD’s great love, and wisdom what would become of us — We must not rest here, for in Him alone is our comfort. I cannot write as I would, words are too poor, to express what, I am feeling for all of you dear sorrowing ones, this distance at times like these, is distressing—
Always, Your loving aunt.
