Letter from Grace Wood Redpath to Peter Whiteford Redpath, 16 June 1901

The Manor House
Chislehurst

June 16th 1901.

My very dear Peter

I am with you all, every minute, for your sorrow is mine, intensely so — I am just following you & the dear sister, & brothers through this terribly distressing time. GOD alone can help you, my beloved ones. How dear Uncle loved you, and always you had such a warm place in my heart – I am anxiously waiting for particulars about this great sorrow, that has come to you. I would go to you, if that were possible, but, in a few weeks or sooner would it be possible for you, and dear Amy, to come to me, my home is yours, and when you would like a change, I would go with you, if you wished it, and we would return to this sweet home of so many sacred memories when you desired it. I just long to be a comfort to you dear Peter & Amy, indeed to all concerned.

You will wish for quiet – here you could have it – seriously think about what I say.

I hope you are keeping well, take great care of yourself and ever

Believe me
Your loving, devoted aunt – Grace Redpath
Agnes joins with me in true sympathy.
