Murder Indictment of Ahan and Lutas

To wit

The Jurors of our Lady the Queen upon their oath present that:

Ahan & Lutas two Indians not having the fear of God before their eyes but being moved and seduced by the instigation of the devil on the Thirty first day day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and sixty four feloniously wilfully and of their malice aforethought did kill and murder one Peter MacDougald against the peace of our Lady the Queen her Crown and dignity.

And the Jurors aforesaid upon their oath aforesaid further present that Ahan an Indian not having the fear of God before his eyes but being moved and seduced by the instigation of the devil on the thirty first day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and sixty four feloniously wilfully and of his malice aforethought did kill and murder one Peter MacDougald against the peace of our Lady the Queen her Crown and dignity.

And the Jurors aforesaid upon their oath aforesaid further present that Lutas an Indian not having the fear of God before his eyes but being moved and seduced but the instigation of the devil on the day and year aforesaid feloniously was present aiding abetting and assisting the said Ahan [in] the felony aforesaid to do and commit against the peace of our Lady the Queen her Crown and dignity.
