I wish to make an appeal for the life of Madam Gagnon who is under sentence to be hanged. Her crime was an atrocious one I know, but, even so if she is hanged, so should thousands of others be. What of those witched women who leave their own new born babies in fields and lanes to die from exposure, not long ago one such infant died, only a few rods from where I am now

sitting, and if hanging is the just deserts of murderers then, the fathers and mothers of unwanted children should hang. But after all, each one of us is responsible for a condition which makes such crimes possible and when we reflect, that Canada, has been a dumping ground for the refuse of nearly every nation under heaven, ever since it was discovered by Jacques Cartier, is it strange that Canadians have the reputation of being, the most cruel of any people in the (so called) civilized world. It is not surprising that people of a mixed blood like

most Canadians, should be cruel, I suppose most Canadians have a strain of indian blood, which, makes for something infernal. Nearly half the children born to French Canadian parents die in erly childhood, it is of course due to lack of care, combined with ignorance, and deliberate cruelty, which kills them. When you think of all the cruelties to the lower animals, which are daily committed (and not always by the French) it is appalling, the atrocities of trapping (even boy scouts are taught to trap) and vivisection, that horror which is financed by arch fiends, and perpertrated by abnormal degenerates, for commercial

reasons alone, let them say what they will, can you wonder that the helpless of the human race are being tortured ? Speaking of cruelty to animals, it is but a step from cruelty to animals to cruelty to humans. A fiend from The Pasteur Institute (see Montreal papers of recent-date) is encouraging those, in charge of the insane hospitals here, to open research laboratories. We know too well what that means the helpless poor will be vivisected for the amusement of those doctors, (recently some of them openly stated that public wards of hospitals were necessary for research) in one of the insane hospitals imbeciles, of every age are confined. These will be fine material for vivisection as their people neither know nor care what happens to

them. I wish the Canadian government could be awakened to the necessity of fighting medical tyrrany. Compulsary vaccination is a menace to our freedom as a nation as surely as it is a menace to our health. When doctors are asked to prove the truth of their statements as to the value of vaccination, they reply something like this, if you take a school of 200 children, and vaccinate a hundred, and leave 100 unvaccinated, and then introduce small-pox into the school, it will pick out the unvaccinated children. How do they know? have they ever experimented upon a school of 200 children? we know they have not.

Figures prove the truth. As a matter of fact in 1918 four persons died of small-pox in England and Wales. Two of them were vaccinated and two of them were unvaccinated, and in the same year five persons died from being vaccinated. Is Canada going to stand for a campaign which will reduce a free people to the depths of slavery?
