Observations in your letter of 7 May 80
[...] Wm Donnelly’s proposals to arrest are altogether too wild – he is too able to catch at straws, and too anxious to make himself the instrument of processing evidence.
I have great sympathy for him & I am anxious to get something for him — and you say he thinks of nothing but the murder [...]
