OUTCRY AGAINST BIDDULPH

The death of Thomas Keelan, senior, has given rise to another accusation against the people of Biddulph. Though a murder have been committed in that case, the fact does, surely, not constitute a ground for directing passion against the citizens of that Township. We protest thus early in the interest of fair play against the initiation of a new crusade of sensational pandering to popular animosities. It is sufficient, we should hope, that having carricatured and vilified the Priest and Catholics of Biddulph, it threatens even now to carry its play with human life into the crime which may have made the trial about to take place in London for the murder of the Donnellys, a foregone conclusion of popoular prejudice.
