Bawden, John

John Bawden, a constable, attempted with Constables Coursey and Reid to arrest the Donnellys at Thomas Ryder’s wedding. A riot ensued and shots were fired. The Donnellys escaped, but they were eventually charged. William and John were convicted of assaulting Bawden. Bawden was also responsible for holding Michael Donnelly in a Lucan hotel, but Michael managed to escape.
