Donnelly, Robert
Also called Bob, Robert Donnelly was born about 1853. He married Annie Curry (Currie). Like his brothers, Robert was charged with a variety of crimes including shooting at Constable Everett. Robert was sent to Kingston Penitentiary for the crime even though he was likely innocent. Released from prison at the end of 1879, Robert returned home and was visiting his parents at their farm the evening the Ryder barn burned down. The night of the murder of his family members, Robert was in St. Thomas, so he escaped death. After the murders, Robert lived primarily in Glencoe and Lucan, where he ran the Western Hotel. Sadly, Robert was admitted to the London Psychiatric Hospital in 1908. He died shortly after, in 1911.
