In view of the charges [number of illegible words, torn document] against Marie Joseph Negress Slave of dame francheville bourgeois of this city, and against the man named Thibault, previously a domestic of the said dame francheville [...] and in View of and considering the said Charges and Information and details Communicated to me,
I Request on behalf of the King that it Be ordained that prior to rendering the final trial Judgement, the Accused be subjected to torture in the ordinary and Extraordinary ways, and Interrogated On the facts Of the trial, and once her Interrogation done and communicated to me, I will determine what is Required; done at Montreal the xxvi th May gbii [1700] thirty-four.
