Gaudron de Chevremont has the Honour of Reporting most respectfully to your Highness, that M. hocquart, Intendant of this Country, granted him upon his arrival a post as Writer in his Offices, and on the Seven July 1732 the Commission of audit clerk at the naval Command in Montreal, which he has always exercised with Zeal and diligence; he can Monseigneur, assure your Highness without any pretension, that Monsieur The Intendant, Monsieurs Michel et Varin, have been Satisfied with his Exactitude in fulfilling the duties of his Position.

It is his hope, Monseigneur, that M.rs The Governor general and Intendant will agree to provide your Highness with an account of his conduct. He dares to believe, Monseigneur, that in consideration of his Services, and of those of five brothers, of whom One was Killed, a Captain of the Grenadiers at the Siege of Dairer; another died three years ago, a former Captain of the Provence Regiment, Pensioner of the King, Knight of St. Louis, who Commanded the Lines at Toulon during The Pestilence and captured In Picardie the man named Colin Crie, Captain of The salt traffickers; one currently serves as a Cavalry Lieutenant in The Regiment of Lambesk, Pensioner of his Majesty and Knight of St. Louis; one was killed, a Midshipman in The last Wars while on Excursion in the Islands; and the last one was made Lieutenant of The Infantry recently; That

your Highness will most willingly grant him the Seal of King’s writer and Audit Clerk in Montreal. Your Highness will Kindly recall that in 1730, he promised M. Le Chevalier D’orleans, who had requested of Him the Charge of chief road inspector for the petitioner, to grant him a vacated and suitable post; And As He had The misfortune of being subjected to the Fire in Montreal in which he lost more than six thousand livres, he most humbly begs your Highness to grant him an Allowance to help him Recover from this loss and to provide for his family. These Graces, Monseigneur, will Stimulate Him to Increase his Zeal and Diligence in order to merit others thereafter.
